I know alot of guys at work and in college who are engineers, and their wives or girlfriends work with children on a daily basis. Usually graduate students will take fewer classes than in undergrad, and there are more in-depth application projects related in the classes. When I did my Master's in Mechanical Engineering, it was actually less time-consuming than in undergrad. Doing the thesis option, I took 7 classes (3hrs per class for 21hrs, plus an additional 9 thesis hours) as opposed to the 10 classes (30hrs) that I would have had to take with a non-thesis. ...
